Thermodynamics

 import minuteman.eq.thermo as thermo
High-temperature equilibrium gases are reacting gases in chemical equilibrium and where intermolecular forces are neglected.

High-level API

minuteman.eq.thermo.isentropic_exponent

isentropic_exponent(states: EqSolutionArraylike) -> NDArrayFloat

Compute the isentropic exponent \(\gamma_s\). Note this is not the same as the equilibrium specific heat ratio \(\gamma=\frac{c_{p,eq}}{c_{v,eq}}\)

Parameters:

Returns:

  • NDArrayFloat –

    Equilibrium isentropic exponent \(\gamma_s\)

minuteman.eq.thermo.speed_of_sound

speed_of_sound(states: EqSolutionArraylike) -> NDArrayFloat

Compute the equilibrium sound speed \(a_{eq}\) from a given set of thermodynamic states.

Implementation derived from Eq. 7.96-7.102 of 1

Parameters:

  • states (EqSolutionArraylike) –

    Equilibrium states. There is no check that the input states are in equilibrium, the user is responsible for this.

Returns:
